Causes
There are many causes that prevent Pakistani women from attending school. One of the causes in Pakistan that prevent women from going to school is the Taliban group. This group has destroyed more than 400 schools around Pakistan which more than half of these were girl schools. They argue that women should not attend school rather stay home. The government took control in 2009 and rebuilt most of the schools destroyed by the Taliban. Although, they rebuilt the schools in Pakistan there is still inequality resulting with 717 primary schools for boys and 425 are for girls. Another factor that prevents women and children from attending school is poverty and long distances to schools. The long distances to school can result in dangerous situations for girls resulting of them being abused. Some other factors that affect women education is pregnancy and early marriage resulting in women not being able to attend school because they need to stay home and watch their children. In conclusion, women in Pakistan face inequality toward education rights and opportunities.
